North York General Hospital NYGH Launches Innovative Digital Platform for Breast Cancer Patients, Empowering Them to Navigate Their Care Journey
Toronto, Ontario March 28, 2024 North York General Hospital NYGH, a leading healthcare provider in Canada, is revolutionizing the way breast cancer patients receive information and support by introducing MyJourney - an advanced digital platform designed specifically for this purpose. This comprehensive tool simplify complex medical decisions by providing personalized educational content that is customized according to various factors like age, stage of cancer, and life phase.
Dr. Fahima Osman, a dedicated breast cancer surgeon at NYGH, who spearheaded the development of MyJourney alongside her team of experts and input from patients, says:
“After receiving the news about their diagnosis, many women are faced with an overwhelming list of appointments, tests, and consultations that can be daunting. Our goal is to ease this burden by offering a single, user-frily digital tool where they can access accurate information tlored to each individual's specific needs throughout their journey from initial diagnosis to life after treatment.”
Funding for MyJourney came from the generosity of NYGH’s donors including Brad Badeau and family, with additional support provided through the Ontario Centre of Innovation OCI via its Innovating Digital Health Solutions Program.

MyJourney offers several features med at improving patient experience and outcomes:
Customized educational on personal factors such as age, stage of cancer, and life phase
Appointment reminders and treatment plan tracking
Direct communication channels between patients and their healthcare team
Seamless integration with other hospital systems for comprehensive care coverage
