Special Issue on Advances in Cancer Genomics and Therapeutic Targets
Cancer remns one of the most challenging health issues facing ity, driven by its complex genetic foundation. The application of genomics has revolutionized cancer research by enabling an unprecedented level of detl in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis. This Special Issue is dedicated to consolidating recent advancements in cancer genomics and innovative strategies med at elucidating intricate patterns of genomic alterations that drive cancer progression.
Scope and Objectives
Our goal is to compile comprehensive articles that showcase cutting-edge uses of genomic sequencing technologies, encompassing whole-genome sequencing, exome sequencing, and targeted sequencing approaches. We invite submissions that highlight the discovery of new genes involved in cancer, mapping the complex landscape of somatic and germline mutations across different cancer types. Additionally, we encourage contributions focusing on the role of epigenetic modifications as a driver of cancer progression and genomic alterations that confer resistance to therapies.
In an effort to bridge the gap between genomic discoveries and clinical applications, this Special Issue also provide insights into translating genomic data into actionable therapeutic targets. This includes advancements in personalized medicine strategies, identification of early detection biomarkers, and progress in gene-editing technologies for cancer treatment.
Key Areas for Submissions
Comprehensive genomic studies that define the genetic basis of cancer.
Discovery and characterization of novel oncogenic drivers.
Identification and functional analysis of tumor suppressor genes across various cancer types.
Evaluation of genomic sequencing technologies' utility in precision medicine and biomarker discovery.
Exploration of epigenetic alterations impacting cancer progression and drug resistance mechanisms.
Call for Contributions
We warmly welcome researchers worldwide to contribute their work to this Special Issue, which is designed as a platform to showcase the pivotal role of genomics in advancing our understanding and combatting cancer.
